Simple novel by Yann Martel that describes the story of a young man as he survives on a boat with a tiger. The main character is originally from India and is the son of a zookeeper. The story unfolds and the main character has to devise ways to survive while on the boat with the tiger. There are a few other characters, with the narration always from that of the main character, Pi.

This book was great to read for multiple reasons for me – first was the narrator’s point of view and his perspective is really enjoyable to follow. Second, the story covers many different topics (and places) and I found myself introspecting through this book as much as following along with the characters.

Highly recommended.
